Letter addressed to Captain John Finch informing him that his application for an appointment as a Captain in the Cavalry Officers' Reserve Corps had been approved; small, attached note informed him that he was delinquent in responding to a question about his birthdate posed in the acceptance letter.
History of Item:
Items were donated to the Colorado National Guard by Georgia Beauchemin of Lynn Haven, FL. Items belonged to CPT John Finch, who served in the National Guard of Colorado beginning in 1901, as an enlisted Soldier. He served as Commander of Company E, 2nd Battalion, 157th Infantry (1st Colorado) during World War I. Died in 1932 as a Major.
